I read an interesting article that made me think about our money saving adventures.  When looking at your time spent researching deals, coupons and rebates, what is the real return?

I approach this subject with some mixed feeling.  Let's face it. Shopping Smart Takes Longer.  This is especially true when you just start out clipping coupons.

The article puts forth some good strategies.

  • Focus on higher value Coupons
  • Limit your Grocery searches to just a few stores
  • Buy and Compare prices online
  • eBay - find deals on gently used items

Here are a few of our own:

  • Use money saving sites, like this one, to target your deal searching
  • Look for stores running coupon doubling specials
  • Plan your shopping trip and coupons ahead of time
